Do you suffer from “pinchy” shoulders when you reach over head? Or do you struggle to find your jacket sleave behind your back? These are signs of limitations in shoulder rotation!
The shoulder (glenohumeral joint) is a ball and socket joint. It has to be free to rotate in its socket like a new doorknob. A shoulder that has more rotation with control will be able to function stronger in a larger variety of positions. A shoulder that doesn’t rotate well will be more prone to injury and can progress to impingement.
In this Kinstretch Express Class, we will be training shoulder rotation end-range control to enhance functional capacity and joint health of the shoulders.
This class is beneficial for:
Assessment Findings
Limitation in general range of motion or rotation in shoulder CARs
Multiple compensation while performing shoulder CARs
General stiffness or tightness in shoulders
History of shoulder injury or dysfunction
Proceed with caution if:
Current shoulder injury
Previous shoulder surgery
Diagnosed shoulder instability
Closing angle pain or “pinch” while performing shoulder CARs*
*This class may be helpful, but it is highly recommended to proceed with caution; start with regressions at low intensities and progress gradually if you feel comfortable doing so. When in doubt, seeing a clinical practitioner is advisable.
