Kinstretch 101

There are some unique concepts that you must understand in order to get the most out of your Kinstretch practice. There is also some language and terminology used in your classes that is only used in Kinstretch. Check out this ‘Kinstretch 101’ to be a true student and learn your craft.

Own Your End-Ranges

In Kinstretch, we dedicate a lot of time to end-range control training. This helps us build strength in positions we are weakest in, while expanding our useable ranges of motion.

In this lesson, Dr. Mitch discusses the law of specificity and the significance of time with end-range training. He also takes you through a proper set-up to help you maximize the effectiveness of your end-range joint training.

The Skill Of Stretching

Stretching is a skill. If we explore stretches, our bodies will tell us exactly which lines of tissue are the most limited. We can also fine tune our body positions too preferentially load these limited tissues. If you can isolate and train the tissues that are most limited, then you can improve you mobility with precision.

In this lesson, Dr. Mitch teaches you two very important stretching concepts – ‘bowing’ the stretch and ‘scanning’ the stretch.

Irradiation

We use “irradiation” with every single exercise. We use it to train joints independently and to make movements more challenging. Kinstetch is strength training! Just like push yourself with the heavy dumbbells, you can train max-effort kinstretch… and both build strength!

In this lesson, Dr. Mitch teaches you all about irradiation and why we use it in Kinstretch. He also takes you through some drills to practice the skill of irradiation.

Iso-Ramping

Our musculoskeletal systems need regular fine-tuning to ensure they are functioning to their full potential. By training to control specific tissues within a muscle, we can improve the function of that muscle as a whole, and in turn, the function of the human as a whole.

In this lesson, Dr. Mitch explains what Iso-ramping is and takes you through some repetitions and examples to help you master the technique.
